Matt Doesn’t Just Fight Fires, He Fights For You!

Matthew Clayton is a dedicated Lieutenant firefighter/paramedic. He is a husband, father, and grandfather with over 20 years of frontline emergency service.

He leads emergency scenes, provides advanced life support, and specializes in hazmat, technical rescue, dive rescue, swift water rescue, and structural collapse response. He serves on the MABAS Division 201 - Indiana District 2 US&R Technical Rescue Team and holds a Bachelor’s in Fire Administration and Emergency Management.

He has also been an Aircraft Rescue Firefighter, a Fire Rescue Boat Operator, and a Wild Land Firefighter. He is a community leader, has coached youth sports, served on medical teams, and supported public safety education.

For two decades, Matthew has run toward danger to save lives and protect communities, giving him real insight into how government affects working families, first responders, and taxpayers. He’s running for St. Joseph County Council District B as a Republican to bring responsible leadership, fiscal accountability, taxpayer protection, stronger public safety, better infrastructure, and smart economic growth.

Matthew understands what it means to serve, to lead, and to put others first. He will bring that same dedication to the county council - fighting for taxpayers, standing up for working families, and ensuring your voice is heard.
